STEP 1

Choose your preferred costume base (multiple backup options are welcome and encouraged). You will copy the URL of the costume base into the Design Form, so be sure to save those webpages on your device (you can leave them open on your tabs or copy the URL to your Notes App). Do not purchase your costume base until AFTER the Design Session. Our list of suggested costume base designers/manufacturers is below.

STEP 2

View our available appliqué, fabric, and rhinestone options to form an initial idea of the kind of palettes, textures, and embellishments you may want to include. Graphics showing the available options are below.

STEP 3

Collect any inspiration photos and/or sketches to submit with your Design Form to expedite the Design Session process. This step is not necessary, however the more prepared you are for the Design Session, the more we can get done in a shorter time. 

Design sessions are billed at $20/30/45 for 15, 30, and 45 minute sessions. This amount will be added to your total balance due. If you choose to go in a different direction after your design session, your deposit will be refunded minus the design session fee.

STEP 4

Submit your Design Session Form – sessions can be done in-person (the avenueBLUE design studio is in Orange County, CA) or virtually via Zoom.

STEP 5

During your design session, we will finalize design elements with a full-color mockup and a final quote. We will work with you to meld the design elements you want with the preferred budget you have. 

STEP 6 

After confirming the final design, purchase the decided-upon costume base. This can be shipped directly to the avenueBLUE design studio, however we recommend having it shipped to you first to allow your dancer to try it on for fit prior to adding embellishments and such. Once the fit is verified, the costume should be shipped to our design studio – costume bases MUST be received at least 30 days prior to the scheduled Ship Date (selected on Etsy).

STEP 7

Final balance will be invoiced and is due 30 days prior to the Ship Date. Meanwhile, costume embellishments and add-ons will be completed and the costume will be shipped back to you once the final balance is paid (this cost will include the design session fee, quoted embellishment and add-on work, as well as a shipping fee if these two fees do not exceed $300). Shipping is free if there is more than $300 of work being done to the costume.
